Her passion was to perform shows using puppets to entertain her friends. The fairytale story of her rise to fame began when she took home the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest in the age group of 6 which led to being contacted by an agent for talent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who inquired whether she wanted to be in show business. McCormick was offered her first gig as a leading actress in 1964. McCormick was in a commercial for Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. McCormick also starred in a commercial in 1964, for the Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was cast as the leading character on Wind It up and It is Broken, a show at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was selected from among 1200 children who auditioned for the role of the oldest of three towheaded girls on the brand new TV comedy The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson as well as Robert Reed as newlyweds with a blended family. The show ran for five years. In her book Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice released in 2008, McCormick admitted that in the fifth season, she almost lost her virginity to her onscreen co-star and brother Barry Williams. The actress was just 16 years old, and the actor 19 at that at the time. The woman said it might have been feasible, but we never had the right time to do it.
