Shay Mitchell is a Canadian actressmodeland entrepreneur. She is best known for her role as Emily Fields in the Freeform series Pretty Little Liars. She took acting classes in Toronto after excelling at modeling and dancing. Mitchell was able to land commercials along with guest roles in TV series. She got her break but it was when she was cast in Emily Fields' role in Pretty Little Liars. Both critics and her fans praised the quality of her performance. The well-known actress established herself in the film industry with films such as DreamlandMother's Dayand The Possession of Hannah Grace. She starred in"You," a psychological thriller, and it earned more attention. As well as acting, she has ventured into writing. With Michaela Blayne, Mitchell wrote an adult novel called Bliss. Shay Mitchell, born April 10, 1987 in Ontario, Canada, was born to mother and father Mark Mitchell, and Precious Garca. She's of Filipina heritage, and her father is of Scottish/Irish origins. Mitchell is also the relative to Lea Salonga - a famous musician and actress. Mitchell went to Rockridge Secondary School before moving into West Vancouver Secondary. As she grew older she been employed by various modeling firms across the globe. After a trip to Barcelona, Bangkok and Hong Kong she went back to Toronto, where she studied acting.
